Mediane London

Roms & Media in London: The website Roms & Media ( was presented at City University London during a meeting of the European project Mediane - Media in Europe for Diversity Inclusiveness. Vitor Tome introduced the site and, through this process, established contacts with various researchers and journalists. More information can be found in the Encounter blog.


Mediane Programme works at Gulbenkian Foundation: More than 100 journalists, researchers and activists gathered at the Calouste Gulbenkian (Lisbon, Portugal), between 26-28 March, in an European meeting of Mediane Program Foundation - Media in Europe for Diversity Inclusiveness under which this website is to be produced. Premio Unesco

Journalist Award 'Human Rights & Integration': They are open until June 16, 2014, the applications for this award in journalism, of the responsibility of the Office for Social Media (GMCS) and the National Commission for UNESCO (CNU) which aims to reward the best journalistic papers on human rights and integration that have been published or broadcast in 2013, in the bodies of Portuguese media (Press, Radio, Audiovisual and Local Journalism.

I Encontro

Successful Roms youth in school: Young Roms and their families are focusing on education, and good models of educational and professional success in Portugal and other countries, without however denying their traditions and culture. This was one of the key ideas of the I Meeting of Young Roms’ Students and Families of Portugal, held at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon), on 29th and 30th April. See video of the meeting
